Program Eligibility
MS/MPhil or equivalent degrees in relevant field of studies with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 in the semester system or First Division in the annual system in the most recent degree obtained from Pakistani or foreign universities.
The applicants shall be required to submit a Statement of Purpose, which shall form an integral part of the application.
All applicants to PhD programs shall be required to take one of the following admission entrance tests:
- Minimum 60% marks in The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) test administered by the Education Testing Service;
- Minimum 60% marks in a graduate admission test administered by the Education Testing Council;
- Minimum 60% marks in NTS GAT-General
- Minimum 60% marks in the Institute’s own test.
Registrations are offered in the PhD programs throughout the year.
Program Structure
The PhD program admission is open to candidates possessing a minimum of 18 years of relevant prerequisite qualifications. Successful applicants will be expected to fulfill a comprehensive academic curriculum, consisting of a minimum of eighteen credit hours of coursework and thirty-six credit hours dedicated to research work, culminating in the completion of a thesis.
The duration of the PhD program is structured with a minimum completion period of three years. This timeline allows students to adequately delve into their research endeavors, ensuring a thorough exploration of their chosen field. However, recognizing the unique circumstances and individual needs of our candidates, a maximum period of eight years is also provided, offering flexibility for those requiring additional time to achieve their research objectives.
