MS in Economics is designed to provide a solid background in theory, quantitative methods, and applications appropriate to the needs of economists involved in private and public sectors policy planning, analysis, and forecasting. IMSciences offers a full-time one and a half year MS in Economics. Emphasis is placed on sound training in economic theory, the acquisition of analytical and research skills, and development of a broad knowledge of macro and microeconomics problems. Being a research oriented degree, it provides an opportunity to the successful students to extend their MS dissertation to the PhD level.
16 years of education in the relevant disciplines such as BSc/BS Economics with a 2.70 CGPA or MSc Economics, MSc Applied Economics with a 2.70 CGPA (with a minimum of 130 credit hours in Bachelors and 60 credit hours in the Master program) or 60% aggregate marks in annual system from any HEC recognized university/institute.
Qualifying the ETS-GRE general test/ NTS-GAT General/Institute’s own test or any other test required by the HEC with 50% marks and interview is mandatory for admission.
The Hafiz Quran shall be given a special credit of 20 marks.
A student admitted to the MS Economics program will be required to complete 24 credit hours of course work along with a minimum of 6 credit hours of research work/thesis
