MS in Economics is designed to provide a solid background in theory, quantitative methods, and applications appropriate to the needs of economists involved in private and public sectors policy planning, analysis, and forecasting. IMSciences offers a full-time one and a half year MS in Economics. Emphasis is placed on sound training in economic theory, the acquisition of analytical and research skills, and development of a broad knowledge of macro and microeconomics problems. Being a research oriented degree, it provides an opportunity to the successful students to extend their MS dissertation to the PhD level.
B.Sc. Economics with a 3.0 CGPA or MSc Economics, MSc Applied Economics with a 3.0 CGPA (with a minimum of 130 credit hours in Bachelors and 60 credit hours in the Master program) or 60% aggregate marks in annual system from any HEC recognized University/Institute. Qualifying the NTS-GAT general test/Institute’s own test or any other test required by the HEC with 50% marks and interview is mandatory for admission.
A student admitted to the MS Economics program will be required to complete 24 credit hours of course work along with a minimum of 6 credit hours of research work/thesis
