My Status on Conferences

A.A. everyone,

I’m leaving for Karachi today (after about one hour). I will know today whether I’m going to Ireland or not. If I get a visa today, I’ll go there. If I don’t, I’ll come back to Peshawar and go to Karachi for the Khi Conference on the 5th.

So, if you need me for anything, well, you can’t find me :) Shaz: Please reply to my mail regarding prayer timings as soon as possible.

Mr. MM: I’ve submitted the abstract to ICET2007 in the form that you last sent me. (I’ve changed spec eng. to software eng.)

And Amin and Mr. T: Please don’t delay the abstract. Please remember that we’re trying to make submissions as a group, so, we need everyone’s submission to reach that conference!

    Best of luck for your journey and presentations… i have already written my abrstract but i ll discuss it with my supervisor tomorrow coz i ll be writing his name as well :) so hope he agrees with the things…

    Right now, I’m boiling here in karachi. There’s some weird weather here. Anyway, I have just one more day to pass (mostly by sleeping away the time). Mr. MM: I don’t have a number in Ireland. I’ll try to get the number for my accommodation place if I have an extension in my room. If not, we’ll have to do by email.

    Secondly, I have submitted the abstract to the ICET2007 but have received no confirmation of receipt. And the ICIET (in khi) haven’t even announced their conference program yet :S. The conferece is less than a week away…. Now, why do I get the impression that the people who organize conferences in Pakistan are way too busy to give time to insignificant things like confirmations and schedules?

    Shaz has asked me to write a daily diary. I can’t really do that without a laptop, now, can I? It’d be nice if, for the next conference, you guys can get me a laptop :D
    Anyway, i’m sitting in Jinnah International Airport right now and there’s a Wateen Free Internet Service here…. and where there’s free, there’s us :D

  12. Ok. me here in DCU, working on a free lab PC. Everything’s peechy clean. Except for a phone though. I have no access to international phone calls. These systems are pretty good. Actually, they’re the same Dell systems that shaz has (or had when he was working on the project).

    Anyway, signing off. Pray for the presentation to go good.
