Meeting Yesterday Regarding Upcoming Conference

A.A. everyone.

We (Mr. T, Shaz, Amin, Nauman) had a meeting yesterday night in which we discussed our course of action for the upcoming ICET 2007. It was decided that everyone would write a paper. Ideas regarding these papers and future directions for these papers were also discussed. Shaz and Amin are writing abstracts as I speak (write!). I myself have written a draft abstract and am working on the paper. Mr. MM: I may have to leave for the conference in Ireland any day and therefore, I have to finalize and submit the abstract ASAP. Kindly take a look at the abstract critically and correct/finalize it.

Hope to have a presence as a group in November (inshaallah)!

  3. Thanks Nauman for best wishes regarding the presence of a group in November. I was thinking, why not to start right now? I mean physically i am not there, but logically I am.

  4. Mr. MM: I talked to Amin regarding the creation of a group (more formally). He’ll have to post his own thoughts after consideration but I think we should wait a while before going with the domain registration etc.

    By “a while”, I mean until we get settled. Amin, shaz and I are in a transition phase right now. For my part, I’m not planning on leaving Peshawar (or research) if I can get a teaching job here. I can’t say what the plans of the other two are. I think we should wait around 6 months or so and see how we settle down. All our MSs will be completed (inshaallah) and once we’re in a stable state, a commitment will count as a more reliable one.

    Of course, we can continue this semi-formal group as we currently are doing. This is working pretty good I think (and it will get better if we can get ourselves into ICET together).

  5. Yeah i agree with you. Now we all are in a transition and a logical group is a better choice due to current circumstances. Once the situation is clear, we all can better decide.

  7. Hmm… No matter what we do or where we set foot but we all will be able to do more or less like we do today. If someone opens a medical store still he can contribute.

    I agree if we stay in peshawar we can do more together but where can we get nicely paid jobs here? Now everyone is MS!

Job Job Job… you all are having with Job phobia… as you complete your MS you all will get a job INSHALLAH… m quite hopeful… One thing that i want to mention and that we already discussed in the last meeting, is that you should always welcome any job you are offered coz changing job is always possible. and i personally think that its Kuran-e-Naimat as well if you are jobless and you are offered one with low salary and you deny that… BUT UNLESS U COMPLETE YOUR STUDIES.. i personally think that one should not think of job at studeis time specially Research. Anyway anyone has his own choice…

    About the group i think the blog is more than enough at the moment for group activities. i have seen that going into the complexities of making website and purchasing a domain like things deviate you from actual work, its always better to first establish with the free things and then going for establishment etc…. i hope we dont need that at the moment :) and i think blog is good resource coz all our things are stored online maintaining website wont hav these benefits…

  9. Regarding Mr. T’s comments: Sir, this job discussion has started only because we were talking about formalizing the group more. We are all in agreement now that our research activities are more important and we need to finish our degrees before getting too involved with jobs.

    Secondly, any job would be good. I prefer teaching because it lets you stay in touch with studies/research and gives you input in the form of fresh blood.

    About the site: When/if we do get a site — and I’m not saying that we should get it right now — we can move this same blog to it. It’s just too early to get a site but when we do, we can take all this information with us to the new site.

    very nice comments from every 1…….no matter we have a medical store or we are going to some country to our uncles as paying guests…… i think job is one of the most motivated factor in our research…..

    nauman is absolutely rite that teaching is only preferred coz it give a chance to stay in touch with group and research rather more.

    and yeah one must not reject a job only for the reason of low pay…yes it could be a factor… coz u cant always get started with 50,000 in the first go…always as haste makes waste.

    in spite of all these facts job remains the hottest issue in todays economy….:) one must have a job to survive. if some 1 gets a chance he/she must go for the job while in studies or after it…. i think i am write…

    likewise, the we must start discussing alternates or various different options regarding job so that as soon as we get rid of our degrees we are hired at good positions… i think all of u understand wat does i mean.

    i hope this job discussion is very healthy for our future prospect an it will help alot :) and i also think it is not getting too lengthy..

    am going for a dinner … will wite complete details abt job and all stuff later

  11. Has anyone finished writing the abstract? Let’s keep each other posted regarding our work. We can post the progress if not ideas.

    As for my part and Mr. MM’s, the abstract has been drafted. Mr. MM is currently correcting it. We’ll submit it when he finishes. What about the rest?
