Maintaining its previous record, IMSciences won the Business Idea Competition in a National Level Summit at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). A group of 15 delegates represented the Institute in the Summit namely, YLES`10, Young Leaders and Entrepreneurs Summit. The event is a regular part of the co-curricular calendar of LUMS. Institute of Business Administration Karachi (IBA) and LGS (Lahore Defense) were the major contenders of the trophy in the final round. In this contest of marketable ideas, IBA and LGS received 2nd and 3rd positions respectively while IMSciences clearly stood out as the winner of the competition. Similarly, last year, IMSciences secured 6 trophies in various categories of the LUMS Olympiad`09.
The duo from IMSciences, Mr. Muhammad Sulaiman and Mr. Muhammad Usman won the All Pakistan Inter University Debate Competition organized by Civic Education Pakistan in collaboration with Higher Education Commission on March 20, 2010 in Islamabad. One team comprising of two speakers from each province participated in the final round of the contest. After qualifying the provincial rounds, the best teams from each province were nominated for the National level (final round). IMSciences was declared as the Best Team of the Contest (Provincial Round) with the honor to represent the province at National Level. The provincial round was held on December 15, 2009 at Islamia College University in which the Institute’s representative, Sulaiman and Usman won the best team award of the province for the second time.
In a landmark achievement, IMSciences won both cricket and football inter-universities tournaments. The gala was arranged at Arbab Niaz Stadium and the University of Peshawar by CECOS University in collaboration with Anti-Narcotics Force. The theme of the tournament was “Say yes to life, Say no to drugs” and the main objective of the tournament was to promote healthy activities and discourage the youth from resorting to drugs. In the football tournament, IMSciences stood out as champion by beating the host CECOS by 2-1 in the finals. While in the cricket tournament CECOS was defeated by IMSciences with a big margin.
A group of 44 students represented IMSciences in fifteen categories in the LUMS Olympiad`10. In various categories, the participants secured 8 positions and overall the team stood 2nd in the Olympiad. The event was jointly arranged by DRUMS and LMA Societies of LUMS. Mr. Shoaib Anwar, Mr. Mian Abdur Rehman, Mr. Qasim Ali, and Mr. Muhammad Aamir represented the Institute in this category and received 2nd position.
The band including Mr. Hammad M. Baig, Ismail Khan, Mr. Farhan Bogra, Mr. Amer Shafique, Mr. Junaid Javed, and Mr. Shiraz Khan secured 2nd position.
In Music Singing category, Mr. Khushal Khan and Mr. Ismaeel Khan represented the Institute: Mr. Khushal Khan received 2nd prize in the Classical Singing category.
In English Declamation, Mr. Afzaal Humayun Khan and Mr. Jawad Ahmad represented the Institute and grabbed 2nd Position.
In Urdu Declamation, Mr. Muhammad Sulaiman and Mr. Nadeh Ali Mir represented the Institute and secured 1st Position.
Mr. Shafi Ullah Ahmadzai and Mr. Maajid Bashir represented the Institute in TEKKEN 5 category while Mr. Qasim Khan and Mr. Ubaid Bin Muslim in FIFA`10 category. Mr. Maajid secured 4th Position in TEKKEN 5.
In this category, the Institute was represented by Mr. S. Aamir Khalil, Mr. Jawad Sawal, and Mr. Afzaal Humayun who secured 1st position. For the last few years, IM Sciences has gone through many developmental changes.
