The Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences), Peshawar,
was established in May 1995 with a view to impart high
quality education and training in the fields of business administration/
management studies and the allied disciplines.
Since its inception, the IMSciences has been pursuing its mission
successfully and by now it enjoys an outstanding position
among the business schools of the country.
Initially, IMSciences offered only two programmes of studies
with a total strength of 180 students only. However, during
the past seven years, the Institute has introduced a number
of new courses and programmes of studies. Its student population
has grown to 1585.
In the light of the achievements of IMSciences, the Government
of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa decided in 1999 to develop it into a model
Institution of the country. It was given an autonomous status
vide Ordinance No. XXXVII of 2002 and was placed under the
Board of Governors (BOG), headed by the Governor, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The BOG comprises of eighteen members and is the supreme
policy formulation and executive body of the Institute. The
Board comprises of high ranking officials of the government,
leading experts in the field of management and representatives
of the business community.
Apart from its academic programmes, the Institute has
marked upon many executive development programmes to
develop human capital of the nation in both public as well as
private sectors.
Compared to previous year the enrolment level of students
have increased by 100%. This shows the level of confidence
of parents and other stakeholders in IMSciences which is increasing
day by day in the form of high percentage of their
placement.
